Nicole Kidman Pairs Prada with Rose Lipstick - Expert Tips for Copping Her Look

Nicole Kidman paired her vivid red locks with rose lipstick and a chartreuse Prada frock.

The Oscar-winning actress stepped out in a pretty rose lip and chartreuse summer frock by Prada at the 2010 Hollywood Foreign Press Association Installation Luncheon at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills yesterday.

The limited edition dress was sewn together using vintage fabrics from the Prada Archive, and its hue reminded us of the similarly-shaded Dior gown that first catapulted the Aussie to the top of the Best Dressed list after she wore it to The 69th Annual Academy Awards in 1997.

We're especially loving the unexpected burst of fresh rose on her lips. It shatters the old adage that redheads should avoid pink, and New York makeup artist Nicole Bryl says it's a perfect choice for the pale porcelain princess.

"This lipstick shade works best for a pale complexion, as the rosy lip shade pops against an ivory skin tone, leaving your mouth looking berry-licious. Partnering the shade with a cherry-kissed cheek completes the classic romantic look," says Bryl.

If you have an olive or deeper toned complexion, you'll have to adjust the shade a bit to get the same level of bursting contrast.

"Olive and darker skins should use more of a burgundy cheek and lip shade, with a bit more gold on the eyes to give the illusion of brightening the face and warming up the heaviness of the burgundy tone," advises Bryl.

Rose lips have had a surge in popularity recently, with Bobbi Brown launching a creamy version of the shade to compliment the blue eyes featured in her new limited edition Denim & Rose collection.

Chanel -- the French luxury brand that Kidman formerly fronted has also launched a softer version of the pretty rose, with a lipstick called Rose Dentelle taking center stage in their new Fall color collection.
