"It's kind of like every girl's dream," Roberts says of her new gig. "To be 42 and have three kids and be a working mom, it's a great moment to be asked to do this and to be able to do it. I think it says a lot about Lancôme and what they stand for."
At the recent Golden Globes – where we hear Roberts slicked on Lancôme's soft pink L'Absolu Rouge Lip color in Coquette topped with the nude shimmer Juicy Tube in Hallucination – the star encountered a bit of a texting snafu. As soon as Sir Paul McCartney sat down next to Roberts, her phone began jingling non-stop.
"It was so embarrassing. It just started going 'ding, ding!" says Roberts.
The texts? All along the lines of, "OMG I can't believe you're sitting next to Paul McCartney."
And glamorous awards shows are now a bit of a departure for the mom of five year-old twins and and a young one, who says her primping habits have changed drastically.

"It kind of comes to a screeching halt. At a certain point in the future, I'll pick it back up again. I think the nice thing about getting older is it forces you in a way to take a greater interest in your [beauty] regime. And so it's a good moment for me to join forces with people who can help me," says Roberts.
Movie-wise, the Hollywood star has two major films set to debut over the next half of the year.
"Valentine's Day" – directed by the same Garry Marshall who also spun his magic for Pretty Woman – will open Feb 12th, and features a soaring cast that includes fellow Lancôme ambassadress Anne Hathaway as well as Jennifer Garner, Shirley MacLaine, Ashton Kitcher and Patrick Dempsey.
"This movie is just about people loving each other and missing out and getting it right, and it's pretty incredible," says Roberts.
Though Julia fans – not to mention Hollywood – are most anticipating the actress' performance in "Eat, Pray, Love," which opens August 13th and is based on the best-selling book by Elizabeth Gilbert that tells the story of Gilbert's exhilarating self-journey that leads her to Italy, India and Indonesia post-divorce.
"It was quite a huge undertaking. It was a little bit daunting, dragging three little kids around the world, but well worth it," says Roberts. "It was really like the acting Olympics. It's been a long time since I've had a full-time acting job." With such a successful and legendary acting career under her belt, many industry insiders have wondered if the Oscar-winning actress would ever try her hand on the other side of the camera – directing. "Nope, no interest. I don't want that many people asking me questions."
